The word “CACI” ™ means: Computer Aided Cosmetology Instrument
The CACI treatment has had over 20 years of medical research behind it and is completely safe and painless. It is the original non-surgical face and body lifting treatment which was devised by Dr. Thomas Wing of the United States. Originally, the procedure was used to treat victims of bells palsy and strokes, but it was noted that when treating the affected side of the face, it actually lifted higher that the unaffected side. CACI™ has become known as “The Non-surgical face lift”.
It was approximately in 1991 when CACI first came to England and was given the name “The Non Surgical face Lift.” Previously, the CACI system had only been used in the sports field for muscular injuries. CACI applications were also widely used in hospital burn units such as the Wellington Hospital, North London and by many physiotherapists for pain relief.
CACI MICRO-MODE used tiny micro-currents which help tone, lift and re-educate the muscles back to their original position. Kinesiologists (muscle specialists) have demonstrated that any muscle can be re-programmed to accept or release its tone. The face has over thirty muscles that lie directly below and are connected to the skin’s surface. When muscles are stimulated, they either contract or expand. It is the direction of the stimulus that determines which reaction takes place and this will be dictated by the positioning of the probes over the muscles.
In either case, proper firmness is re-established through the non-surgical procedure by correcting the sagging muscle, which in turn corrects the sag of the skin. The treatment also stimulates blood circulation, which helps improve muscle tone and counteract dryness.
Micro-mode also works on improving the skin tissue. It also softens line and wrinkles, and works to generally improve the skin’s texture and tone.
Micro-mode works in harmony with the body’s own bio-electrical field. The body works from electrical impulses and the impulses provided by Micro-mode are very similar; therefore, the current is virtually sub-sensory. The client feels very little if anything at all. There is no visible muscle contraction, therefore, skin and muscle tissue respond very quickly to this type of stimulation.
Treatments on Micro-mode are generally run as a course of treatments, averaging between 10 and 15 treatments. Some clients will need more and some clients will require less depending on the client’s skin tissue and their muscle tone. It will not depend on the client’s age! On completion of one course, another course is not necessary, provided that the client returns for a booster / maintenance treatment, which on average is one a month or between four to six weeks.

Before your IPL treatment
Please shave or trim the area five to seven days before your treatment. If your hair’s density is very sparse leave some hair visible so we may determine precisely where to treat.Do not wax, tweeze or bleach any of the areas to be treated. It is also recommended to avoid any irritating medication or chemicals, which may interfere with the IPL treatment.
After your IPL treatment
Please keep the area treated away from any sun exposure. On the face, use a SPF 30+ for at least 7 days after you treatment to allow your skin to heal. Also minimize any bathing or washing with hot water and use warm water until your skin is back to normality. Clients may observe the hair falling out around 10 days after treatment.
Tanned, Asian and Dark Skin
Clients cannot have any treatments within 4 weeks of sunbathing, before or after treatment. This can cause severe burning. It is your responsibility to inform you therapist of any recent tanning (being real pr fake), failing to do so, will be at your own risk.Light Asian skins can be treated and this will need to be discussed and evaluated within the consultation. Darker skins rarely can be treated and this can be discussed with our medical Consultant /Laser therapist.
Side-effects and exceptions
Side effects are rare, but can happen. Clients may experience a slight reddening or local swelling on the treated area, but this generally disappears within hours. Following treatment, clients can go back to work and resume normal activities. IPL treatment should not be performed on pregnant women.
Does Pulsed Light System Hurt?
The sensation varies from person to person and between body areas. Some people feel nothing, some feel a heat sensation, and some have likened the sensation to mild stinging. Generally, the coarser or thicker the hair, the greater the sensation.

FREQUENCY OF THE SESSION:
The number of sessions required varies from client to client. The average number is from 6-8 sessions. Treatments generally are once a month.
HOW DOES IPL WORK?
The intense pulsed lamplight passes through the skin. It is then absorbed by the pigment (colour) within the hair shaft and hair follicle. This generates heat, which loosens the hair and disables the hair forming cells.
You will need several treatments to get the best result. This is because each individual hair follicle has its own cycle of growth. There are three phases: anagen (actively growing), catagen (changing) and telogen (resting). The Pulsed Light System is most effective on hair that is actively growing (anagen). There is a wide variation between individuals due to hormones, thickness and colour of hair, general health and other reasons. It is therefore difficult to predict exactly how many treatments you may need, but the average is an initial course of around six to eight treatments. You will also need six to eight weeks between each treatment, depending on the body area. After this initial course of treatment any residual hair is generally finer, softer, and lighter in colour and re-growing at a slower rate.This residual hair growth can be left alone, or you can have occasional maintenance treatments, which can vary from a few months apart to once a year.
WHAT COMMITMENT IS REQUIRED?
In most cases you will see a result after three –six treatments, but there is a significant improvement if the treatment is repeated at regular intervals. There is no limit to the number of treatments you can undergo.After treatments, it will appear that the hairs continue to grow. What is actually happening is that the hair is still gripped by the skin and is slowly being expelled from the follicle.

Q: How does it work?
A: The light output from the applicator is preferentially absorbed by the melanin in the hair. This then heats up the hair follicle and disables it so it cannot grow back.The IPL (Intense Pulse light) system works to reduce unwanted hair with maximum results. It destroys the follicle of the hair that enables it to grow again. Pigments in the hair shaft absorb the light, resulting in heat damage to each follicle of hair. Q: What areas can be treated?
A: This procedure works well on the face, neck, chest, arms, back, underarms, legs and bikini line.
Q: What hairs cannot be treated?
A: hairs that are not in the active growth stage cannot be treated. Blonde and gray hairs are more difficult to remove and may not be able to be treated.
Q: When will I see results?
A: As the process I designed to reduce the density of the hair growth you will start to see results after your second or third treatment. Because you see yourself everyday it is difficult for you to see gradual improvements taking place. Thus, it is very important that good clinical photos are taken before the treatment and then at the review of three months, this will then display the improvement. Individual results may vary.
Q: How often do you need treating?
A: After the initial treatment it is advisable to have a second treatment four to six weeks later. The hair can only be removed when it is in its active growing stage; therefore a series of treatments is required to catch the hairs in this cycle.
Q: How many treatments can I have?
A: There are no maximum amounts of treatments that may be undertaken.
Q: How long do the effects last for?
A: Nobody can categorically state how long the effects will last for due to the reasons stated below.
It is important to understand that there are numerous hair follicles in every square centimeter of skin on the body, for example, the chin has approximately 455 follicles per cm2 and the thigh about 55 follicles per cm2. As you can see, where we might have disabled a hair follicle there are adjacent ones that might not have been treated in the correct phase of hair growth and may grow through at any time. Additionally, due to alterations within the body new hair growth may also be stimulated.
Q: Who can be treated?

Before your IPL treatment
Please shave or trim the area five to seven days before your treatment. If your hair’s density is very sparse leave some hair visible so we may determine precisely where to treat.Do not wax, tweeze or bleach any of the areas to be treated. It is also recommended to avoid any irritating medication or chemicals, which may interfere with the IPL treatment.
After your IPL treatment
Please keep the area treated away from any sun exposure. On the face, use a SPF 30+ for at least 7 days after you treatment to allow your skin to heal. Also minimize any bathing or washing with hot water and use warm water until your skin is back to normality. Clients may observe the hair falling out around 10 days after treatment.
Tanned, Asian and Dark Skin
Clients cannot have any treatments within 4 weeks of sunbathing, before or after treatment. This can cause severe burning. It is your responsibility to inform you therapist of any recent tanning (being real pr fake), failing to do so, will be at your own risk.Light Asian skins can be treated and this will need to be discussed and evaluated within the consultation. Darker skins rarely can be treated and this can be discussed with our medical Consultant /Laser therapist.
Side-effects and exceptions
Side effects are rare, but can happen. Clients may experience a slight reddening or local swelling on the treated area, but this generally disappears within hours. Following treatment, clients can go back to work and resume normal activities. IPL treatment should not be performed on pregnant women.
Does Pulsed Light System Hurt?
The sensation varies from person to person and between body areas. Some people feel nothing, some feel a heat sensation, and some have likened the sensation to mild stinging. Generally, the coarser or thicker the hair, the greater the sensation.

FREQUENCY OF THE SESSION:
The number of sessions required varies from client to client. The average number is from 6-8 sessions. Treatments generally are once a month.
HOW DOES IPL WORK?
The intense pulsed lamplight passes through the skin. It is then absorbed by the pigment (colour) within the hair shaft and hair follicle. This generates heat, which loosens the hair and disables the hair forming cells.
You will need several treatments to get the best result. This is because each individual hair follicle has its own cycle of growth. There are three phases: anagen (actively growing), catagen (changing) and telogen (resting). The Pulsed Light System is most effective on hair that is actively growing (anagen). There is a wide variation between individuals due to hormones, thickness and colour of hair, general health and other reasons. It is therefore difficult to predict exactly how many treatments you may need, but the average is an initial course of around six to eight treatments. You will also need six to eight weeks between each treatment, depending on the body area. After this initial course of treatment any residual hair is generally finer, softer, and lighter in colour and re-growing at a slower rate.This residual hair growth can be left alone, or you can have occasional maintenance treatments, which can vary from a few months apart to once a year.
WHAT COMMITMENT IS REQUIRED?
In most cases you will see a result after three –six treatments, but there is a significant improvement if the treatment is repeated at regular intervals. There is no limit to the number of treatments you can undergo.After treatments, it will appear that the hairs continue to grow. What is actually happening is that the hair is still gripped by the skin and is slowly being expelled from the follicle.

Q: How does it work?
A: The light output from the applicator is preferentially absorbed by the melanin in the hair. This then heats up the hair follicle and disables it so it cannot grow back.The IPL (Intense Pulse light) system works to reduce unwanted hair with maximum results. It destroys the follicle of the hair that enables it to grow again. Pigments in the hair shaft absorb the light, resulting in heat damage to each follicle of hair. Q: What areas can be treated?
A: This procedure works well on the face, neck, chest, arms, back, underarms, legs and bikini line.
Q: What hairs cannot be treated?
A: hairs that are not in the active growth stage cannot be treated. Blonde and gray hairs are more difficult to remove and may not be able to be treated.
Q: When will I see results?
A: As the process I designed to reduce the density of the hair growth you will start to see results after your second or third treatment. Because you see yourself everyday it is difficult for you to see gradual improvements taking place. Thus, it is very important that good clinical photos are taken before the treatment and then at the review of three months, this will then display the improvement. Individual results may vary.

A: After the initial treatment it is advisable to have a second treatment four to six weeks later. The hair can only be removed when it is in its active growing stage; therefore a series of treatments is required to catch the hairs in this cycle.

Q: How long do the effects last for?
A: Nobody can categorically state how long the effects will last for due to the reasons stated below.
It is important to understand that there are numerous hair follicles in every square centimeter of skin on the body, for example, the chin has approximately 455 follicles per cm2 and the thigh about 55 follicles per cm2. As you can see, where we might have disabled a hair follicle there are adjacent ones that might not have been treated in the correct phase of hair growth and may grow through at any time. Additionally, due to alterations within the body new hair growth may also be stimulated.
Q: Who can be treated?
A: Virtually anybody can be treated with this system. However, any underlying medical conditions may exclude you from treatment, or the results may be negligible. It is very important that you state clearly any medical conditions that you have or any medical treatments you are undertaking.
